  • Can definitely agree with making a paste with bi carb soda and vinegar and just having a really great sponge with some grit to scrub, depending on how bad your shower surface is. I hate the smell of things like bleach too! I avoid it at all costs as i cant stand it

  • Bicarb soda, vinegar and water I have found effective. The Let’s Clean section has some great tips too.

  • I recently read where you use a lemon. You cut it in half and wipe it over the shower surface and scrub the stubborn surfaces with it wait 5-10mins and then go in there and rinse it off and as you’re rinsing use a cloth and the soap scum etc just lifts away. i used this method on my own shower and I hadn’t cleaned it in a while so it had a buildup and it came out crystal clear. Hope this helps.

  • I like using equal parts white vinegar and water with one or two drops of morning fresh. I use it in one of those scrubber brushes where you fill the handle, and in a spray bottle. I can’t handle mould or soap scum cleaners every time, they give me migraines. This mix works for me

  • Great question! I purchased a bottle of pure tea tree oil from closed and I mix a capful of it in a spray bottle of water. I spray it in our shower quite regularly to keep it clean fresh and smelling great. It helps kill mould naturally without harsh chemicals.

  • Sometimes it is a very good idea to look at the cloths and brushes and other cleaning tools that are being used to clean in the bathroom. They are just as important as the cleaning products used in the bathroom. I have some terrific eco brushes that remove all scum and debris with ease.

  • I do not use harsh chemicals or abrasives when cleaning the shower or the bathroom. I do not like harsh chemical or abrasive residue left over in the shower, bath or basin. It is always a very mild and friendly cleaner and plenty of scrubbing and repeat the process to get everything clean.

  • I like the Bosisto’s line and they do have a bathroom and shower cleaner. It is Australian made and made with pure eucalyptus oil which is naturaly strong on soap scum and grime without the nasty chemical. When I run out I use in fact diluted eucalyptus oil myself. Another good one is of course vinegar & baking soda

  • Ohhh i am completely in the same boat!! I hate the strong smell of chemical cleaning products, especially things like bleach or things that contain it. They are definitely things i avoid in my home, especially with kids around. I use a good scourer and something as simple as dishwashing detergent to cut through grime and grease.
