We didn’t make a big deal about it when we moved our kids out of our bedroom. Our daughter was 6 months when we moved her and I think both the boys were 9 months. Our sons wouldn’t settle at night if I didn’t get up to them, because they could see me lying in bed and I just got sick of it, so one day I moved their cot into another room and we didn’t have that trouble anymore.

My youngest went straight in her own room. Never had a problem with it and always settled herself. I did place a baby monitor in her room, so I could hear her when she was unsettled.
