  • Peel a zucchini and put the peel on a plate somewhere in your kitchen. Apparently they don’t like the smell, and it has kept out kitchen free of ants! I replace the peel every few weeks.

  • We bought 2 jars of ant sand and went around the entire outside of the house. It worked!

  • Apparently if you get white chalk and draw a line at places they are coming in from, like your window etc they won’t pass it. Something about the white line messes with there sense of direction and they won’t pass for fear of getting lost. Haven’t tried it myself, but several people have mentioned it to me, so might be worth a shot.

  • I have the same issue! No matter what I do they always return! It’s the worst!

  • Have you tried using bug bombs? Open up cupboards, wardrobes, draws and make sure you turn off the gas, and power before setting them off.

  • I have a problem with a pile or cluster of tiny ants in the bathroom it’s like they are coming to a moist area. I’m sorry I can’t help but I have tried everything and would also love to know what works. The ant packs don’t work or ant powders. I’m going to try something I’ve read about some bread water and borax in a dish and it kills them off some how. Good luck !

  • Put every single thing in storage tubs and eventually they will give up. Spray your window and door seals with ant spray too.

  • We had some success with the $2 insect spray for flies and insects. Sprayed to kill the ants when they swarmed in the cupboard, then located the door they were sneaking under and sprayed that. Also tried surface spray along all doors and windows in area. Problem went away thankfully, with just a couple of ‘treatments’. I guess the nest must have been outside and they were just coming in. Perhaps could also try a pest control expert if the diy solutions don’t work.

  • Ant killer powder. Sprinkle it around the entire outside of your house. Window sills. Doorways. If you know their trail spray and wipe aswell, apparently they leave a trace for other ants to follow.

  • I know we mostly don’t like to use chemicals, but sometimes we just have to. See if you can spot where they are coming into the house and use a surface spray there and at door entry. Locate the nest, pour down boiling water. Various essential oils can also help to deter those little ants, including eucalyptus, clove, tea tree and several others., check out this link and good luck. https://www.themiracleofessentialoils.com/essential-oils-for-ants/

  • The old fashioned method to use is clove oil. You sprinkle it everywhere. But if that fails, try a plug in insect repeller. You can buy them online and they send out a frequency that bugs can’t handle. Nearly every bug!! So give it a try but buy one with Australian sockets otherwise you have to buy an adapter. These ward off absolutely everything. I have 2 in my home and we get nothing inside. We had birds and some mice would get in after the food but now, absolutely no mice, bugs, flys, ants or mozzies.

  • Boiling water? Or plug up every hole there is! Don’t let the buggers in!!

  • I think you may need to find the queen ant or follow their trail as they often bring it back for the queen. I’d best be getting a professional to really do a full house clean especially if they are on the bed

  • There nothing worse then Ants I hate them they can destroy your food in a minute

  • I think just trying to keep the house clean.
Keep eating to the kitchen only and make sure you wipe away and vacuum any stray crumbs etc.

  • Some great tips thankyou everyone

  • Spray home defense outside around your whole house. You can buy this from Bunnings. Always works for me.

  • Ensure any open packets etc are in sealed containers, vacuum each day, wipe down bench tops etc immediately. If you are fighting a battle you can’t seem to win, especially if they are in your bed then I would suggest calling a local pest company to see if they can offer any advice or a treatment. Although it may seem costly, in the long run it could fix your issue and save you money on trying different products that maybe are not fixing the issue.

  • Daily vacuuming, mopping and wipe those crumbs and food rests down immediately.
