My son has started to know when he’s doing wees & poos. We have a potty in the bathroom, which he has asked to use successfully a couple of times. Over Christmas, I’m thinking I’ll do a dedicated few days of toilet training. I’ll need to buy a smaller toilet seat soon though to get him used to the idea.

If your child is able to tell you when they have pooped or wee’ed then that is a good sign that they are aware of their bodily functions and a great time to start. Try a potty or a special seat on the toilet. Lots of praise and encouragement, but try not to show dissapointment or anger when they have an accident. Goodluck
