Hello!

My son is 10 weeks old and during the day he wants to feed every 2 hours. How do I stop the snack feeding so he goes back to 4 hour feeds?

  • this could be normal and they move on from this soon. otherwise speak with a local child and family health nurse who can give you specific strategies to help.

  • My little one fed every two hours for quite a while I want too fussed because he was getting nutrients but it alm depends on age ect so maybe ask your maternal nurse

  • Try to make sure he’s getting the hind milk. Make him feed for longer, even try hand expressing a little into his mouth for encouragement. If he’s feeding that regularly he might not be emptying you.

  • It’s entirely normal for infants to feed that frequently. I know it’s exhausting but just go with it. It won’t be forever x

  • I wouldnt call it snack feeding. At 10 weeks old babies like to be fed and it could be a growth spurt or cluster feeding. My bub is the same she use to eat every 5 hours now its between 2 and 4 hours and mucu more frequent during the night.
