  • Make him soft foods that he can easily eat and put on his favourite tv show while feeding him

  • Mostly kids does same thing during teething feed him during playing

  • probably freezing some foods in an ice cream mold ?

  • Freeze some foods to help them with the teething, cucumber, watermelon and banana freeze really well, if bub is breast feeding you can make breast milk iceblocks to just pop them into ice cube containers and freeze

  • Try making things colder to help easy gum pain or avoid anything that is warm or requires to be cooked/heated

  • Im going through the same these days.My bub only like fruits so I give him what he likes. No point fussing on things if he is not keen.Hopefully this teething time passes soon

  • try some mushy foods and then trysome solid crunchy food – quite often they prefer one or the other at that stage

  • Have some frozen food…?
Give them homemade teething buiscuts, give them the option of cold variety like yoghurt

  • I’m sure if your fussy eater is hungry they will eat. Offer a variety of things and I’m sure they will find something that feels food and fills them enough.

  • They will go back to normal soon, but cold yoghurt and fruits were good for us. Watermelon was definitely a hit.

  • Just ride it out they will pick back up and eat when they are feeling better

  • They’ll eat as much as they want, you can’t force it sadly. They won’t go hungry I promise! Just keep offering all sorts. Cooling tethers help

  • I would let them lead the way, just as us adults choose not to eat when in pain, it’s the same for our little ones. Just keep offering and if they only want the breast/bottle just trust they know what they need. Good luck, teething sucks!

  • Babies and toddlers won’t starve themselves. Just offer what food choices that you normally would but also include some hard/cold choices.

  • Try things they can naw on to help break the teeth through like apples etc

  • Homemade icy poles with lots of fruits and hidden vegetables did help my kids when they were teething.

  • Back to the pureed apple etc, sweet and soft.

  • Babies won’t starve themselves to death. While it’s distressing when they don’t eat, they’ll survive. Keep offering food, preferably food that bub hasn’t refused. Lots of cold, soothing foods. Keep up the fluids, maybe offer age appropriate formula to get some nutrients in

  • Some babies go off their food completely when teething. They aren’t interested when their mouths are sore. Some babies also get sore throats when teething. I know one that got tonsililtis every time he got a new tooth every time right through he was old enough he got all his permanent teeth.
Maybe try food that is almost liquid. Baby may not just be fussy he may not be too keen to swallow it either and may be better able to cope with plenty of drinks. If you have to give extra milk temporarily it may be a better option.

  • Don’t stress it mumma. Offer soothing, cold foods. Things that bub can chew and suck on for relief but if they don’t want it, there is nothing you can do. Just keep up fluids, water, milk/breast/formula and keep offering. I found frozen bananas great and yoghurt was good too.
