Hello!

My baby is only 4 months old and she has red cheeks. I’ve looked in her mouth and I’m not 100% certain that what I think could be teeth are teeth.
Does anyone have tricks to knowing if there are teeth moving or do I just sit it out and wait?

  • Yeah just sit it out, teething is a long process. When you feel you bub is in pain you can give some icy poles, frozen teething rings, chewing on a tooth brush, some people may rub teething gel, or a little panadol when it’s really bad

  • Just sit it out. My daughter had red cheeks too, everyone was saying ‘She must be teething!’ She did teethe eventually, but much after her red cheeks appeared.

  • Sometimes you can see white shapes in baby’s gums which may be a bit redder than normal. Your baby may start dribbling. Don’t get too excited as the first one may not cut through the gum for a month or more. Make sure your fingers are clean and gently feel gums at the front. You may be able to feel the top edge of the tooth if it is through the skin.
