  • Panadol helps; also I found that heat packs and hot drinks could be surprisingly effective (though not always on the worst days).

  • Having a hot water bottle helps and sleeping in a cradled position can too but trying to not let it get to you and even taking iron tablets help alot

  • I’m sorry to say mum used to say toughen up princess. I would recommend heat bag at nights when home or you can now buy hand warmers at the chemist and they are great to place inside underwear ( wear 2 pairs )

  • I take naproxen which is a prescription anti inflammatory product. Ponstan is similar which can be bought over the counter without a prescription. As with all anti inflammatory products, always take with a meal to reduce the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding.

  • I take panadol when l need too!

  • Years ago, I used (A LOT OF) Codral pain relief. After I had my kids, the pain kind of reduced so I didn’t need pain relief. Codral wax amazing, it worked quickly on excruciating period pain. You would often find me in the foetal position during periods, not after Codral. Not even sure if you can still buy it, but I thouroughly recommend it

  • Your local chemist can assist with pain relief options for period pain.

  • Chemist brand pain relief and traditional home remedies.
