I’ve been told they grind their teeth when teething! Perhaps offer a range of different teething toys and see how that works but if you’re still concerned chat to your GP!

It can be a response on teething pain.
It could help to offer
– rubber teethers that are conforming to your child’s mouth.
– Cold rubber teething toys that can ease pain from teeth coming in.
– Silicone teething necklaces.

Bearing in mind that your little one is only 14 months old it will probably be hard to find the cause.
Managing to use a mouth guard may not be practical because of new teeth in gums causing gums to change constantly too. Do you know if your little one dreams at all or is a bad sleeper? If a Dentist can’t help you I would suggest consulting your GP or a Paediatrician

I have no idea! I have a hubby who grinds his teeth whilst asleep, so hard I’m surprised he still has teeth! So if anyone has any tips on how to stop dads from grinding teeth, I would love to hear them

My son does this at night, i have worked out it happens more if he is emothional the day beforehand.

A question for the dentist or GP. Is it an unconscious action while they sleep or consciously during the day? Good luck.

I think you may have to visit the dentist they can fit a mouthguard type thing to stop them.

Did you find a way to stop the grinding ??
My son is 4 and has been grinding his teeth for about 18 months now and it seems to be getting worse.

My son does this and from what the dentist have told me is that you cant stop them doing it. Does your child do it deliberately or in their sleep?

Mouth guard is a great idea!

I think it might be a phase and hopefully grow out of it

Not sure – my sister in law took her son to the dentist and he had a covering put on top of his teeth.

I’m not sure I would want to use a mouth guard at a young age, they will grow out of it in time.

I never thought of that a mouth guard sounds interesting
