  • Use feeding pacifiers

  • My friend’s daughter stopped when she had a sore on her thumb from hand foot and mouth disease – maybe try a paint like nail bitter

  • Cool! It was interesting reading the comments on this!

  • My son fixed himself with this issue. Nan let him play with a set of tongs. He pinched his thumb in them, drew blood, too sore to suck. By the time it was better, thumb sucking was forgotten

  • Put some of that nail biting stuff on their thumb

  • I need this too, thank you!!

  • I am pretty sure there are things you can get from the chemist for this.

  • Hope this has been resolved for you.

  • Hope you managed to find the answer you were looking for.

  • What did you end up using?

  • teething toy, dummy, or rusk

  • Not sure what to tell you – my daughter still sucks hers – when one thumb gets sore she starts on the other one.

  • Ohh, I would be careful putting anything on a red cracked thumb, it might sting, if he doesn’t have a dummy maybe that could be an option to turn to.

  • Use the bad tasting nail polish you can get from the chemist and hopefully may stop it

  • Buy stop thumb or put a little soy sauce on it something. That does not taste great but will not hurt him

  • You can buy a stop stuck from the chemist which tastes awful you paint his thumb and its makes th not want to stuck it anymore. Or stop bit will do the same thing

  • I’m not sure if you can really stop it at 15 months, maybe just wait until he’s older, by which time he’ll probably have stopped doing it anyway.

  • At 15 months hes still young. I wouldn’t worry too much about it

  • In time they will stop Just a phase they are going through

  • I reckon they stop in their own time!
