Hello!

Winter is aggravating my baby’s cradle cap, just wondering how long it takes to go?

  • My daughter had it bad the other day- I added some coconut oil to her scalp and gently brushed and it cleared up the next day.

  • My first born had it bad. The maternal child health nurse recommended we use liberal amount of olive oil and very gently try to comb it out. Took a good month of massaging olive oil, letting it absorb and very gently combing it out but it worked.

  • My little had terrible craddle cap. The doctor told us to use olive oil over it and gentle scratch it away. It was clear within 2 weeks and we used an oil based moisturiser to keep it away. My daughter has terrible ezcema as well.

  • I noticed it gone by a year. Was pretty prevalent for the first 6 months then started reducing. Olive oil and a soft tooth brush at bath time helped reduce it more quickly.

  • I tried everything and nothing worked and finally once she started getting more hair and at about the age if ten months it went

  • Olive oil on overnight, comb with a headlice comb( plastic not metal). Wash out in morning with qv wash

  • I’m a hairdresser and Ive seen many cases over the years and with my own children .. I found it can last a few months to several months of even years on and off ..the best remedy Is use olive oil rubbed on scalp every night and wash out with s gentle shampoo repeat every night .. And di not pick at it as this can damage the hair follicle

  • Our little one had it for about 6 months . We used lots of olive oil, then a comb to clear the loose crust

  • My daughter is 22 months old and she still has a little bit. Her hair is quite long now so it covers it but I can see it’s still there. I’d like it gone but it’s not flakey and it’s not hurting her so I’m happy to leave it.

  • You can massage some baby oil into the scalp, wipe with cotton wool, should help!

  • I used coconut oil on my daughter and it cleared it up first go, I couldn’t believe how fast and well it worked.

  • Baby oil is great on it and a comb whilst feeding but just gently work at it with a soft comb and often ones it’s gone it doesn’t come back.

  • My daughter is almost 3 years old and still has cradle cap- just not as bad as when she was a baby.

  • My baby is 5 months and still has it, I will try some oil as suggested

  • wowww incrdible if you can get rid of it :)

  • i think that by nine months but my friend laughed at me because her 2 month old didn’t have it because she had picked it off…..try to gradually get rid off it, oil is great

  • I used baby oil after each bath & would gently comb out while breastfeeding. I found with my second by doing it each day it healed up really quickly compared to my first.

  • My eldest son had it for 4mths, we got rid of it by combing out the flakes & applying Gaia baby oil daily. My youngest still had it at 11mths, the pharmacist had a look at it & said it had become yeasty & to comb out the flakes & apply a tiny bit of canesten for a couple of days… worked a treat! If your having trouble getting rid of cradle cap it might be worth getting it looked at :)

  • any specific hair oil that i can use ?

  • 3 years…..my god…. so no use of combs ? just brushes?
