If you want to cook it on Friday night, I would get it out of the freezer on Wednesday night, just to be sure. A lot of people recommend defrosting in the fridge, of course this will take longer. I always defrost in the kitchen sink, with no problems
We usually thaw a turkey of that size in our fridge too, we do two days in the fridge to thaw properly. (24 hours from the time you want to start cooking). Any less than that you will end of with some parts still frozen. Check that your fridge isn’t set too cold either or it may take a little longer.
