When my son was 2,5 years he spoke 5 words. He just took a bit more time and once he started he didn’t shut up 😉

At 2yrs of age they should say around 20 – 50 words. But this isn’t always the case. One of the factors that can affect this is if the child has an older sibling that does a lot of the talking so they don’t feel they need to say anything. My MCHN said as long as they are understanding what you say then thats whats important and the words will eventually comes.
