If I’m hosting a friend’s hens night, I usually budget around $50–$100 per person for food, drinks, and activities. It really depends on what kind of celebration your friend wants and how many people are coming. If it’s a big night out, it could cost more, but smaller, at-home events like a games night or DIY cocktails can be more affordable. I’d suggest discussing costs with the group beforehand so everyone is comfortable with the plan—it’s all about celebrating without causing financial stress!
When hosting a friend’s hens night, costs can really vary depending on the location, activities, and group size, but I try to stick to a comfortable budget. Typically, I’d aim to spend around $50-$100 on decorations, small party favors, and maybe a fun game or two if it’s a smaller gathering at someone’s house. If we’re booking a venue, like a bar or a day spa, I’d expect the group to split that cost, usually adding $100+ per person.
I have run numerous hens nights, and normally the night works out at about $50 per person going. As the person running the event, I am ok to spend a little bit more for the bride to have a good time. (roughly between $75 – $100) Any more than the $50 you will find that some may not turn up, you may be out of pocket more etc.
When hosting its a tough one, I’ve tried to make it more affordable by – getting the girls who attend to contribute to a book for “Recipes of love”, I ordered a frame online to make our own photo booth and already had props etc from the races, other dress up parties etc, bridesmaids chipped in for a room for the night, we didn’t have anything down the “Magic Mike” path…drinks in the room with nibbles and games with prizes (simple things from Priceline, eBay, IKEA etc – candles, eye masks, picture frames, bath products etc) followed by dinner and dancing (went to a club with free entry or guest list options)..hope this helps, didn’t put a specific amount in here but some tips to make it a fun night and a bit more cost effective 🙂
I am going to a surprise party soon. As I don’t drive, nobody going lives anywhere near me and the bus routes don’t go near the venue. I will have to catch a taxi which will be about $100.00 each way.
Needless to say I will not be buying an expensive present nor am I the one organising it.
Hard question to answer, but the more you spend the more you have to charge each person that’s coming. This might be a deal breaker for some. I just went to my nieces and it cost $80, which included drinks, finger food, decorations, games and 2 male “skimpy” waiters for part of the night. Pretty good value and the cost was kept down as it was at the parents place. I couldn’t drink much as I was driving so didn’t really get my money’s worth. Take into account most people will need to also pay for a taxi/uber for the trip there and back, outfit or costume and it can end up an expensive night.
Yep generally it’s covered by all invited but keep in mind how much you ask for. I just had to pay over $200 for one and it was way too much in my opinion
Personally, to lighten the load, I would get all invited to help out. Bring a plate, bring drinks, bring some games etc. It’s easier when everyone pitches in
