Both my kids learnt to swim at school, when they were 4 is when they started. Your boy will learn at his own pace, he may not be as confident as others, doesn’t mean he’s behind

My boys started lessons when the first was 2 and the second was 1. Both could swim underwater/be able to take a breath and swim to the side for safety at 3-3.5years. Next bubba will start in summer when she is 11months.

I guess the earlier they start the more confidence they have. We also have a fab teacher and small classes of 7 kids. Those things may be factors!!

I have two boys 4 and 5 and the 4 year old can swim a bit but the 5 year old isn’t anywhere near ready. he’s not confident at all in the water.

My daughter took water confidence lessons when she was four and learnt to swim at age 5.
