Hello!

I accidentally hurt my daughter and feeling so guilty over it that it can’t shake it off. Lucky she was reasonably unharmed but she’s been left with a small corneal abrasion and a nice mark under her eye. Feeling so guilty right now

  • aaww….Look I get where you are coming from but we are human and we make mistakes. Unless you her hurt her with mean intent then you need to bush that guilt off and move forward because you know that you are a good Mum and one negative thing certainly cant undo all the positive you have given this child.

  • Accidents happen. Not fret too much :) she will be fine

  • Accidents happen.

  • It was unintentional and that is what you have to remember.

  • Accidents can happen anywhere. It will disappear when time past.

  • It was an accident, not intentional. Don’t beat yourself up over it. She knows you are a loving and caring Mum.

  • You just do your best! Time to move on.

  • It happens to us all, such a hard thing and it hangs around forever unfortunately

  • I’m most of us have had some type of accident with at least one of our children or been unable yo prevent one. Hopefully your daughter’s eyesight won’t be damaged to any extent and the mark under her eye will fade. Provided she won’t touch it at all you could try putting bio-oil or other product on the mark to help fade it. I found paw paw ointment is quite good.

  • It’s hard to turn off! I think every Mum has mothers guilt. You just have to be realistic and keep telling yourself it was an accident and accidents do happen.

  • Accidents happen, it’s ok mumma. We’ve all been there, and accidents will happen again. All we can do is protect our children as much as we can, love them, be there for them and these little life events will not be remembered. Don’t be too hard on yourself

  • Things happen. It was an accident. it’s perfectly natural to feel guilty but it will pass. I’m sure your child will be okay. Kids are resilient and they know that accidents can happen.

  • Most parents could probably tell you a story. Guilt will lessen over time I’m sure. After all an accident was just that! Try not to be too hard on yourself

  • Mothers guilt is something you never get rid of unfortunatly. My son is 30 next year, when he was 8 months old, he had to stay over night in hospital. Due to circumstances, I couldn’t stay with him. I felt awful at the time, even now when I think about it, that same feeling comes back. I could probably produce quite a lengthy list of regrets/guilt I have about my kids
