If you have a hubby or a friend, get them to take over and you disappear when it is bedtime. They then but bub to bed for you in their own bed. Yes they may cry and yes it is ok to give them a hug and settle them after a period of time (make it longer each time) and they will stop fighting it and eventually go to sleep in their own bed. If you are on your own the same thing applies. It is hard but earplugs and even going outside for a few minutes so you don’t get upset helps. We had the same trouble with our youngest even though both ours slept in their own room and own bed from birth. It worked for us anyway. But all bubs are different.

We had the same problem at that time daughter was 3 months old and she only sleep when we rocked her. End up we let her cry out. We put her in her bed when she was tired, then we checked on her every 1 min, 2 min, 4 min, 8 min, 16 min and 32 min and so on. Every time we only spent about a min with her give her a pat and sing a song. The first night she cried for 35 min.. then next night only 20 min. She can sleep by herself after 4 days. Sound harsh to let her cry out but her overall health is a lot better after sleeping by herself. Was the toughest thing to hear her cry for long time but we are glad that we did it
