Hello!

Recently come across a couple of very unique bottles that I want to keep but I made a mess removing the label and now it looks just a mess , I soaked them in soapy water for quite a while

  • Eucalyptus oil on a cotton ball. Put it on thickly and leave for a few hours. Use a fine knife blade or razor to scrape it off. Works every time.

  • I always use Eucalyptus Oil for this !

  • My go to is always a eucalyptus oil and do gentle circular motions with a cloth or sponge.

  • I soak in soapy water & then give them a scrub/wipe with eucalyptus oil.

  • Oomph is a clear liquid in a spray bottle you can buy from Bunnings, especially designed to take sticky labels off and remove goo and other stains. It’s fabulous and it works.

  • Eucalyptus oil is choice for removing the sticker adhesive. As readers below have stated, you may need to soak, scrape. I find applying the oil with paper towel and leaving it on the sticker for a short time before rubbing. Then soak and scrap again. You may finish the bottles off in the dishwasher for a sparking result.

  • Eucalyptus oil – a small amount on a cotton wool ball – can often be useful for removing labels.

  • After reading these answers I will definitely be using eucalyptus oil in future!

  • Eucalyptus oil all the way.
I usually presoak yje jar/bottle in warm water overnight.
Then quickly scrape off whatever I can.
Take a paper towel with eucalyptus oil on it and wipe it onto the remaining label and glue.
    Leave it for a minute.
Try scraping and wiping again. I use a knife and steel wool.
Wipe again with eucalyptus oil to remove any more marks
    Then into the dishwasher.

  • Make a paste of equal parts baking soda and oil. Rub the paste all over the bottles and leave it on for a few minutes. Take a clean cloth and wipe the paste away, along with the glue underneath it. The oil softens the glue up and the baking soda adds a little bit of abrasiveness.

  • Agree, eucalyptus oil is good otherwise have you tried nail polish remover to get rid of stickyness

  • How about vinegar or lemon juice?

  • Use eucalyptus oil, Rub it on and leave it for a while, ( a hour) then wash off with hot water, it should come straight off

  • After soaking most of the label off I use Eucalyptus oil as well ! It works well 🙂

  • You can rub it with some eucalyptus oil!

  • I use adhesive remover after I soak off as much as possible and a gentle rub with a rough cloth

  • Try with some eucalyptus oil on a piece of kitchen paper. I always do that, and it works!

  • Orange oil

  • I have found that a wipe with a soft cloth dipped in metho can remove sticky glue.

  • If you have soaked in really hot water with detergent and just be careful it’s not too hot to make the glass crack, while the glass is hot try scrapping what is left and if it is glue that is left I use eucalyptus oil to move the glue. It’s just trial and era one detergent might work better than another to move the label and you might have to redo to get the result and I hope you get a great result.
