Hello!

I struggle to keep motivated when it comes to exercises. Any ideas for a fitness challenge to try to keep interested? Aside from going to the gym what do other mums do to keep active and fit?

  • I have a Fitbit – you can challenge others to have the most steps or reach your own goals – very motivating. At a party on the weekend two of my Fitbit pals who had never met were there and had an instant connection!

  • I enjoy dancing when no one else is home.

  • The annual MS mud run is on shortly. That’s always fun. Get some of your friends to do it with you, you’ll have a ball. Other than that, simple additions to make what you do do a bit harder. Eg ankle weights when walking. Increases calorie burn without too much effort

  • a simple little pedometer to count your steps while setting goals.

  • I have started picking up my daughter from school driving to a park and we go for a walk before we pick up the smaller ones.

  • Ive got a family group together this year to do the colour run at Flemington race track Melbourne; now I have something to train for; its months away, but is a good goal and great to be apart of with my children and family

  • find yourself something beautiful in a small size or plan a trip for when you lose it

  • Have a goal and small increases every day. Say you go jogging for 5 minutes the first day and increase by 1 minute every day, by the end of the month you’d be jogging for over 1/2 hour per day.

  • there are some good comments here

  • you could put the music on and dance

  • U need to excersizes with a friend who won’t let u back out.

  • Some good advice there below.

  • My daughter did the 30 day squat challenge and thought it was great – really got her motivated and exercising. Once she did that she added push ups to the squats and tried that for the next month.

  • I write everything down. In find that helps keep me honest

  • Google it.. Depends what area u want to work on

  • i also would like to know some ideas i really want to loose weight but just so hard to get started and to slick with it.

  • Bootcamp is also great. It’s different each time and it’s challenging and rewarding.

  • My gym sets challenges for us. December has been a triathlon challenge. 100 push ups 10km cycle 1km run. We are timed and try to improve each time we do it.

  • Hope some of the ideas below have helped.

  • The Wiggle DVD is a great workout and we just got out little one a trike to keep us motivated to get out and about
