Hello!

I receive so many Black Friday Sales emails and I really can’t get excited about them. Is it just me? I would prefer to purchase what I want when I want it. Sure I do my homework on the best place to purchase from at the time with the help of Google Shopping. I feel I am saving a fortune by not taking part in this sales promotion.

  • I know what you mean. One clothing company sent emails and texts every few hours. I didn’t mind the first time but during the days that passed, for the same percentage off, I started to get annoyed. I’d understand if there was a further percentage off but not the same percentage the whole long weekend. I did manage to buy a dress from there though hehe

  • I like receiving emails about sales and people that do not like receiving emails; should be able to set up rules that do not allow spam to get through to inboxes. Another thing that can be done is to have a few days of digital detox when the emails come through.

  • Yes I sort of agree with you. I have had Black Friday emails, texts, Facebook advertisements and phone calls bombard me for the last 72 hours, Black Friday, Saturday and Sunday. My phone has been pinging all weekend, I’ve had to silence my phone. I feel that there’s always sales, regardless. If I need something, I’m like you, I’ll do my homework.

  • I do not mind receiving the emails about sales and have found some good and needed bargains and it has saved me a whole lot of time that would have otherwise been spent searching for the best prices. If I am am not interested in particular sale emails, I hit the delete button.

  • I delete the bulk of Black Friday emails because a lot of them are for things I really don’t need right now. I understand the need for businesses to advertise and get sales and emails are a cheap way to do that, but for the receiver it can be overwhelming to receive so many emails every day.

  • It works out really well for me, as my birthday is in early December and I get to take advantage of all the sales and picked everything I want at a great price. Its also great for secret santa gifts for my family. I can really treat them while still being within the price limit. It definitely gives me some fomo though, which can be dangerous to the bank account

  • It is not just you. Black Friday sales are the biggest gimmick out there. They make out like they are giving you huge savings, and I am sure there maybe are some retailers out there with a genuine deal, but most of it isn’t even that much of a saving. You are better off going for EOFYS. I am always keeping my eye open all year around for good prices, sales and promotions and am not controlled by when retailers make out are the best sales. A good sale can be at any time.

  • I do love myself a bargain but gosh the inbox has gone insane. Most emails get deleted without review, but I do find the Black Friday sales the best all year for grabbing the bargains you want and need. That’s the secret… he clear in what your want and need and then just go to that retailer website(s). It’s worth holding out until then for the bargain I think!

  • To be honest, I’m deleting a lot of emails unread. I am looking at emails from retailers who may be offering things that either I want (not much on that list) or things that I know my kids want for Christmas (a longer list). So I’m looking for very specific things and not a lot of them.

  • I agree whole heartedly and am so over the masses of emails and notificiations. Adverts everywhere I turn. I too only shop when I actually need something and there are always specials to be found if you shop around. In this climate and with the cost of living I can’t imagine shopping just for the fun of it.

  • No it’s not just you. We also prefer to buy that what we need on the moment we need it and aren’t specific “Black Friday hunters”. Of course it is very nice when that what we need and want to purchase right now occurs when the Black Friday sales are on 😉

  • I feel overwhelmed with so many Black Friday Sales emails as well. I should make a list of what I do want and need as Christmas Gifts and just research these for the best price. I will stick to a budget over Christmas for buying everything including food and decorations.
