I think there are lots of problems with the law. It can be used against you and fault found so easily (eg it is YOUR problem if a burglar injures themselves on your property because you didn’t properly fence a hole or broken paver; and you get a criminal record if you hurt an animal while it is attacking your child). In these cases I think the law is too tough and too powerful on basically ‘innocent’ people who weren’t out to cause any harm or trouble. But I’m not sure that it is tough enough on other crimes. (If penalties were working then wouldn’t the rates be dropping?)
I dont think it is. People either get a slap on the wrist or do time, get out early and do it again. A. Old friend of mine went missing and the police found her body. She murdered by someone who was on probation who had already committed who previously done it before.
I do not know enough about the legal system to know if the laws are adequate and tough enough on the perpetrators of crime. I do wonder that often financial fraud perpetrators get harsher penalties than those than commit violent crimes – it is a puzzle?
