  • We planned a staycation the last school holidays in the city. We ended up taking the kids to hijinx hotel and we all had so much together as family in the escape rooms! Some can be tricky for the younger kids but it was still fun. Right next door is Archie brothers arcade and that was fun too

  • My kids enjoyed the Lego shop, simply riding trams, and the State Library (yes, I know that sounds weird). The State Museum also entertained them for hours – although it probably helped that there was a special Lego exhibit, they enjoyed the rest too. And choosing a restaurant in Lygon street was a cheap thrill for them.

  • The issue we have when visiting Melbourne is running out of time to do everything we want to do when there! It very much depends on personal tastes as to what is enjoyed. The various markets are always a lot of good fun and full of a range of foods and products.

  • There’s a lot to do in Melbourne for kids and adults alike.
There is the sea life Melbourne aquarium, the Melbourne Museum, and the Melbourne sky deck. You can also explore interactive and creative options such as the ArtVo gallery, the Melbourne planetarium or visit Federation Square.
When you enjoy a mix of art and science, the ACMI and Science works offer engaging experiences.
There is also Monopoly dreams Melbourne and the Australian sports museum or the Icehouse for ice skating or the Holy Moly family friendly mini golf

  • Science museums always go down a treat, and Scienceworks is in Melbourne. There’s also Legoland Discovery Centre. If you’re wanting something not as costly you could always go to the Botanic gardens and have a picnic and a play. I’m sure there’s a holy moly and arcade located within the cbd

  • There’s the aquarium and there’s art play. I’m sorry I’m not sure if they have any arcades but you can check on the websites for Timezone etc. bowling is always great too and I’m pretty sure there is strike bowling out there when I last went. It had escape rooms aswell

  • There is always a wealth of things to do in Melbourne for both adults and children. An online search for What’s on Melbourne for the time of the year when a visit is proposed is so helpful. I do lots of planning this way and the search widens from that point with helpful and informative links to activities and places to visit.
