Hello!

Hi, I was wondering if there is a link between stuttering and food. My 9 yr old has a ‘mild’ stutter and he is with a speech therapist. Recently we changed our diet to a real food diet. He started to speak much better. Then this past weekend: with halloween and 4 parties with lots of candy and preservatives, his speech worsened. I’ve never made a link between diet and stuttering.

  • Its always possible.

  • I am quite sure stuttering is related to breathing techniques . Google should have some information on this too . If you are seeing a therapist, they should be able to answer all your concerns as well .

  • Maybe from foods these days as they have too many toxins and chemicals. Everything is changing…

  • i hope all is well 🙂

  • I haven’t heard of it but you need to go with what works and what you have observed personally. Maybe the difference in food leads to a more excited state which results in the stuttering.

  • Kids that stammer are often shy, this could be why they stammer.

  • What? We sisters all had the same diet, only one of us stuttered and she did grow out of it, in the days before speech therapy.

  • I have never heard of this but its good to look into it
