Hello!

I have a mammogram recall, the appointment is tomorrow, I’m going on my own. I was told it was routine, but to bring a support person (?) .

I was informed that as it was my first mammogram that they have nothing to compare to and the radiographers are not in agreement, so I am being recalled.

Has anyone else had this happen to them and if you don’t mind sharing what was your experience?

I am a little worried.

  • The place I go for mine gets you to wait while they check them and if all is good they send you on your way. My friend had one done there and her news was not so good but they informed her straight away. She went through treatment and is 100% fine now.

  • Yes, this happen to me and a friend of mine – generally its so they have a more detailed scan for comparison in the future. I hope all went well.

  • I hope all went well for you.

  • I hope it went well!

  • Hope nothing further was found. It is routine to call back when it’s your first one but understand how scary it can be.

  • Fingers crossed it was just a routine double check and nothing serious

  • I hope all was ok, best wishes.

  • This happened to me once as well. But hope for the best.

  • I had this occur and all was ok.
    Hope it went well.

  • Hope all was well

  • I had this happen and it was quite scary for me but mainly because I received the recall while I was sitting with my husband while he was having chemo. I was more worried about how he would react and if it would put more stress on him. Mine came back all clear so I was able to just concentrate on him and the short time we had left together. I hope yours turns out to be nothing, just a glitch on the machine.

  • I hope they just didn’t get a good enough reading first time round.

  • I hope it was just routine and all went well.

  • I was told it happens more often when they don’t have a previous image to compare. They’re more ;ikely to need to check something benign.

  • I hope it was just to get things checked and that it all went well

  • Hopefully everything went well. Yes it happened to me too. I got a mammogram done when I was 39. Because my sister was diagnosed with breast cancer out of the blue when she was 40. I had to go back and they were taking some tissues. I was lucky and it wasn’t cancerous.

  • I got a recall a few years ago and panicked. Turned out the hormonal changes showed up as an abnormality so I was very pleased. Try not to over think it.

  • How did it go? ????

  • How did you go yesterday anonymous poster ?

  • i m following up too. same question
