Hello!

I’m due for bub in 6 weeks but could have as soon as 4-5 weeks as I’m being induced. Just want to know meals I can start making now that’ll keep 6-8 weeks. I might be having c section if bub doesn’t turn and want to be prepared. Thanks fellow mums.

  • I had a freezer packed to the door with prepped food. I made egg and pork sausage English muffins for a brekkie. Lebanese bread pizzas. Lasagne, satay chicken parcels, meatballs, Chinese beef and veg. Sausage rolls. Things that were packed with meat and veg to give the needed boost. Pasta and rice is easy enough to cook when needed, so just freeze sauces.

  • Assuming you have a freezer: most pasta dishes freeze well.

  • Pasta, rice and chicken all freeze really well. Whip up a big batch and separate.
If for winter you .ca do soups too like vegetable and pumpkin

  • Most casseroles, slw cooker meals, or pastas freeze well.

  • Vegetarian recipes also freeze well.

  • This is an old post but for any soon to be new mums – stews, pasta dishes, basic chicken and beef dishes keep well in the freezer.

  • Spag bog! Really interesting reading the comments to this!

  • Tuna pasta, spag Bol, lasagne, home made sausage rolls, egg and bacon pie

  • tuna mornay, spag bog, shepards pie

  • Rice chicken and carrot soup lemon soup easily prepared and then frozen

  • Lasgane is always good to freeze.
    Home made quiches.
I also freeze shephers pie without the mash topping.
Meatballs. Fried rice freezes well too. Soup.
Good luck.I will keep an eye on this post as i like to make meals ahead.

  • Casseroles, pies and mince and pasta dishes work well

  • Casseroles are usually the best then you can just freeze or spag bog (just the sauce) as it will only take you a moment to heat up some pasta and reheat the sauce. Chow Mein is also a good one. It’s great that you are going to do a cook up and have things ready I wish that I did then with mine it would have made life easier.

  • there are some good comments here

  • stews are good to freeze and yummy too

  • Most food you freeze, if well sealed, will keep for 6-8 weeks. Other good tips are to consider getting your shopping delivered to aid in the recovery time (not lifting).

  • How are you going with your preparation? And all the best with the birth of your little one.

  • i hope its all going well 🙂

  • all winter hearty meals keep well in the freezer like lasagna, casseroles etc. coming into summer they can be paired with a quick salad. quiches is great too or zucchini slice.

  • how did it go? 🙂
