Hello!

As a single mum, I love to have ’emergency meals’ in the freezer for when I’m not week or very tired! I’ve been trialling a few different options lately and am vegetarian… but it’s hard to find something that’s tasty, filling and seems healthy…

  • Ha! Your typo in the title made me think you were planning horrible revenge on someone! I think your best option would be to do it yourself – do a a bit of bulk cooking one weekend, and then freeze them in smaller portions. This can be surprisingly fast to do.

  • If finding meals that are tasty and easy to get is tricky; another way to go is to batch make and batch freeze meals that are favourite meals. At least this way it will be meals that appeal to the tastebuds and meals that you will look forward to heating and eating.

  • We do not get meals delivered but we do have pre packaged frozen meals in the freezer for times when we want a quick and easy meal. We always buy them when they are on special and they are good for times when sick or when life is super busy.

  • The supermarkets have a range of meals that just require heating. I have tried some of them, and they are okay for a quick and convenient meal. I am not sure about vegetarian options, but worth looking into.

  • Oh it can definitely be hard when you are so busy and dont always have the time to prep and cook! Meal delivery services often cater to different dietary needs like vegetarian meals. It can really save you the headache of prepping or feeling like the meals are constantly the same on rotation

  • I first thought this was for a prank delivery service haha
HelloFresh is good, and I’ve heard positive things about Marley Spoon but you need to cook it yourself. I try to cook extra throughout the week, making larger batches, then freeze it. Its hard finding already prepared food that actually tastes nice and has variety

  • We used Every plate for a while and with a Vegetarian in the family found they had some really good meals available for us to choose. Many we’ve never cooked before and are now able to expand on the few dishes that were on high rotation. I would recommend them from our experience as they were tasty and really filled us up.

  • I used Hello Fresh for a while – they have a vegetarian option with their service. They do not delivery whole meals though, they provide the ingredients and simple recipes/instructions for preparing those ingredients. Everything that I made from them was very tasty and ready within 15 minutes. My parents are using Light and Easy and they like that. They do actual meals that you just reheat.

  • There are so many meal delivery services out there now and they all vary so much. It would depend on your area too. You could also consider local stores, cafes, pubs with takeaway vegetarian meals you could freeze like Chinese, Indian etc. Some supermarket frozen meals are not bad at all. It’s going to be trial and error with personal taste.

  • Ha ha! I thought this was going to be about mean delivery drivers or something 😂
My daughter is a vegetarian and we recently found some awesome frozen cooked meals by a company we found at a gluten free expo. They aren’t the cheapest but they are super healthy and my daughter often finds she can make them into two meals by adding pita bread or corn chips. The company is called gut happy foods

  • I used to order Lite n’ Easy which has good vegetarian options. The meals are tasty, convenient and stay fresh, making it easy to have a balanced veggie dish which is ready whenever you need them. They also helped my loose weight and I just ordered from the lunch section but you could maybe order from the dinner section.

  • This should say MEAL delivery… but you know… answers to either will at least be interesting or Webster’s entertaining!
