Hello!

My 1 year 9 month old son has suddenly started wanting a morning bottle after six months of just having a bottle before bedtime at night. I am just wondering if anyone else has had this with their toddler/babies? My son is currently going through some serious medical emergency issues at the moment and maybe this is all just a security thing, but I thought I would check to see if anyone else knows something.

  • Could indeed be a comfort think as what you say he’s going through serious medical emergency issues. Personally I would leave it and just let him have that bottle if that’s comforting to him, he’s only little…

  • I’d try giving it in a sippy cup or a cup just to make it easier to get rid of the bottle when the time comes. Goodluck

  • If you don’t really want him to have it, you can give him water. My daughter still has bottles when she sleep, for safety. As I don’t want to give her milk she get water

  • He might want it for comfort. I would just give him in a sippy cup. He is still little.

  • Maybe try a sippycup:)

  • I havnt been through this, maybe ust have him so warm milk but in a sippy cup or something

  • No but if he still has one at night and is using it as a comfort through a stressful time I dont see the problem would be different if he no longer had bottles at all I would give it to him 🙂

  • could you offer him something else like a nice sippy cup with warm milk.

  • there are some good comments here

  • yeah he prob just like the comfort from it

  • Could be helping a sick tummy. I find that if I have a sick tummy and I have a chocolate milk or sugary tea it makes me feel better. Or maybe he is thirty first thing in the morning. Try giving him milk in sippy cup before he goes to bed instead of bottle and also in the morning.

  • could it be possible he has a sort throat or has a tube this will make it hard to eat but easy to drink.

  • Could be just a security thing as you say, let him have it and try and wean the bottle to a sippy cup

  • Really hope everything is going well with his medical emergency issues.

  • I don’t see anything wrong in it.

  • If he wants it let him have, or if you dint want him to have a morning one maybe a milk in a asippy cup with his breakfast.

  • I really dont see that it matters.
If he wants one then give it to him.
Hes 21mths old so really what does it matter?
Now if you were talking about your 21 year old son wanting on then thats a concern 🙂

  • If he wants a bottle/sippy cup just let him have it, we all have milk in our cereal each morning. It’s not a bad thing to want milk at any time of day in my opinion, even for us grown ups, good luck with everything 🙂

  • Milk in babies diet is a good thing. His medical condition may be the cause that he needs to have a bottle to comfort him. One of my kids had a bottle up until she went to school. No big problem she drank he milk this way.

  • If he’s having medical issues, it my just be a comfort thing, just let him do it
