If you are in a fire prone area you need to use a mower which catches the clippings and get rid of them, not left on your lawn or in the garden in the warmer months as it will increase fuel in a fire. Some lawns also get very spongy if you leave any of the clippings on them. The same applies to bark mulch in a garden in prone areas. It will ignite into a fireball.

I didn’t know there were different types of mowers – thanks for flagging that as we’ll have to replace our mower in a bit.

I would go for the mulched mower, 2 in 1 function, can’t beat that! And it doesn’t hurt to mulch the lawn at this time of year

No idea – we have an electric mower that is good. Good luck with making a decision.

I like standard mowers as munchers leave a lot of cut grass that tends to get walked into the house.
