Try putting a very small amount on her plate. so shes not overwhelmed.
get her to assist with food prep by pulling out capsicum seeds. breaking up banana. feel it. smell it. in small ways. have a picnic and dit with her..are you over her? looming with food? try sitting on a rug and sharing a banana or a sandwich half each.

stages not ages with kids – my son was always on the lowest percentile in growth. he loved mashed veges, a little meat and milk. I never gave him juice soft drink or many sweets. he would not and still will not eat fruit. my son is now a very big 24yo. 6’4″ and 110kg. He was just not food motivated. Relax love her and maybe involve her in preparing meals, she may eat them then, it worked for me xxx Oh, dips and batons of veges work great too.. As long as she is not loosing weight and showing healthy growth signs, I would let her eat the amount she wants.
Toddlers are very fussy and a good trick for getting them to try new food is cutting up a big plate of fruit, veggies, cheese, crackers etc.. And just putting it on table, offer her some and then just letting her approach it herself. If she sees you snacking at it she may want some.

Your daughter may suddenly start eating more when she has a “growth spurt” (suddenly grows quickly). It seemed as though our little one ate non stop then and his clothes were suddenly shorter on him. Others who don’t see him all the time noticed the difference too.

Just let her keep eating however much she wants. She will eat more when she is ready. As long as she is not losing weight she should be fine.

My 2 younger kids have always been on the lower percentile of the weight range but i was not and am not concerned as they are still gaining weight not loosing it!
My daughter is only 10 months old and is a smaller baby but she seems to love food so i’m not at all worried!
My 3 1/2 year old generally eats like a baby bird and has since he was about 1-1/2 – 2 years old however he has started eating a lot more now which is great, he is forever asking me for food. I wouldn’t be concerned 🙂

Maybe get her to graze through the day ensuring vegies etc are in the diet. Maybe make smoothies for her in between? If you are really concerned off to the GP, you have the mothers instinct so go by that..good luck

Stop stressing – children will never starve and they seem to innately know what they need. My daughter at about that age would eat nothing but granny smith apples, so we bought them by the barrow load and she would eat 6 or 8 a day. Then suddenly she decided she would eat anything and everything and she never looked back. Nagging her to eat anything else would have only caused stress for her and for her siblings as she was extremely strong willed.

My 2yr old is the same they will never starve themselves, he will pick here and there I have kept him on toddler formula to keep him getting all nutrition if he’s missing any by picking and choosing to eat somethings and not other things, don’t stress too much unless you notice a change in weight and behaviour and health.

Hi i have the same problem try offering her arrange off food but little amounts through the day this will help get the weight up try get her to eat more carbs that will help with weight gain goodluck

My daughter was exactly the same. Is it a certain meal or every meal? I find involving them in the cooking, preparation as much as possible helps, even if they just sit on your hip while you stir, smell what you are cooking, or even play with peelings if there are any. If you can do that, lots of kids then feel as though they “made” the food and can be more excited about eating it

Children have a great way of not over eating-unlike us adults. As long as she’s not eating junk food & filling up on that I think she’s fine. Make sure fruit is readily available to her for snacking on and maybe have a little go to plate of crackers, cheese, carrot stick and cream cheese readily available and she can help herself. Also a water bottle.

June11’s point about milk could be it. Just have colourful fruit, cubes of cheese,slivers of veggies available. It might tempt her. When my little girl didn’t feel like eating, I’d set up a little picnic in the garden, invite her teddies and make tiny sandwiches and plates of fruit and cheese. She would nibble while feeding her toys and so would eat a bit more than if I nagged her to have lunch or dinner. Good luck.

Does your 2 year old drink a lot of milk? If so cut it back as the milk is filling.
Is your 2 year old teething and have sore gums or throat at all? My brother got tonsillitis every time he got a new tooth (right up until he finished getting his wisdom teeth). Some also tend not to eat much if they have an ear infection at all. They may not put their fingers in or on their ears as some do when their ears are sore or even cry more than normal. You can’t see an inner ear infection at all but a Dr. can see not so serious ones. I know of two children who have had inner ear infections diagnosed by a MRI Scan..You will gradually learn which foods your 2 year old definitely doesn’t like. Ours won’t eat ham. He will actually pull it out and hand it to us. He doesn’t know it is in what we give him until he tastes it. He also doesn’t like lettuce at all. He eats most things. If he is tired he doesn’t eat much.
