Hello!

I’m only giving it to her about once a day when the pain is bad. She’s too young to hold a teething ring properly. Is it normal to have to use panadol or nurofen for kids?

  • I used Bonjela on my son’s gums. He adapted to it really well.

  • I used Brauer teething drops. It’s like a homeopathic alternative.

  • I used both at that age, but you could also use the teething gel. I would put this on just before a sleep, or when they were really grumpy.

  • I’m going to get shot too. I remember as a child my Mother rubbing my gums with Brandy. Nurofen I think is unsuitable for children , I like the cream for pain relief but find taken internally upsets my stomach. Best to check with GP or Nursing Sister.

  • Weleda teething powder or bongela

  • Has any of these suggestions helped?

  • Get an amber teething necklace or bracelet

  • I will have to try some of these, my 4 month old is going through it too. don’t you wish you could just kiss the problems away for them?

  • I used Panadol and nurafen on all my babies, Panadol only until they are 3 months. I would put a teething ring in the fridge or freezer for a little while and hold it near their mouth to see if they wanted it. Bonjella is good too. The chemist loved me.

  • There is a herbal tonic called Brauer’s, which makes all natural tonics for Teething, stomach upsets, colic, sleep, lots of others. As it is herbal you can use it as often as required. I used it for both my kids, especially the teething formula, and it was excellent! You can only buy it from the pharmacy.

  • One of the previous posts talked about genius amber beads helping. Perhaps you could read through that and see if those suggestion would help? A lot of people felt that they helped their bub during teething.

  • You can get something called a gummee (not sure of spelling) glove. You can put it on your childs hand and has a teether attached so they don’t have to hold it

  • hyland teething tablets. they all natural and they dissolve in the mouth

  • my aunt is a nurse and told me one thing to never ever use on a baby/child is nerofen, it damages the stomach and organs, along with other yet unknown side effects , i use panadol or dymden in extreme cases but mostly we have had an amber necklace on since 2 months old, we use either cold washers/teething rings for teething pain and brauer and weleda teething power , but my absolute favorite most trusted is abc baby homeopathic drops from pure force remedies they are absolutely amazing!

  • Put a washer in the freezer then when cold give to bub. But paracetamol or nurofen if bubs is clearly distressed. You probably take a painkiller When you have an ailment and bubs should be given the same. I use dymadon as it’s paracetamol without the yucky baby panadol taste

  • I used teething gel for my boy. You can ask at chemist.

  • I have always used panadol, if you have ever had a tooth ache or similar ache in gums it will give you an indication of what your little one is going through.

  • When your bub is in a lot of pain and crying in their sleep as ours was, baby panadol under the doctor’s advice offered some relief. We tried teething gels, and rings, rusks etc too. nut the panadol eased his pain.

  • How is it going? Anything working for bub.

  • Brauers teething gel. Ask for it at the chemist. We used it for our son it is meant to be natural ingredients. I wouldn’t use neurufen. Although it is good for pain relief it may not be good if your child has an accident or any problems. It contains Ibuprofen which thins the bloods. I’d would highly suggest talking to the chemist.
