Hello!

My baby is 6+ month old. Till now he was on bf. Now I want to introduce top feed in his diet once in a day. But he doesn’t take/like bottle.

  • In my experience, nothing can make a breastfed baby take the bottle.

  • We had a situation recently where we were finding it impossible to get our baby to take/finish a bottle (different situation because he is bottle fed). But we changed the teat to a faster flow and it did the trick. So make sure you play around with the teats as it might help you baby take it.

  • You can try a sippy cup if your little one likes that better.

  • I had to resort to someone else giving baby a bottle. If baby knew I was there, they would Just expect the boob instead of a bottle.
Is someone available to help you out with the one bottle feed?

  • I had same issue, never succeeded all the best trying different bottles and tears and giving it to baby when sleepy worked a little for me

  • keep trying. my little one didn’t like bottles either…. but I kept at it, and now he is no longer bf, he takes a bottle at night with no issues.

  • I agree with trying different bottle teats. They are all different and have different air flows.

  • I would suggest you buy a few different bottle teats. I know NUK offer a few different shapes. One has several tiny openings are modelled on the milk ducts in a mother’s breast and ensure a smooth and natural flow. Might be best to try a few and I would hold off feeding time a little so Baby is really hungry.

  • Maybe start with expressing breastmilk and give that via the bottle. It might be wise someone else gives the bottle. Then you could gradually add some formula if you would want to.
