Agree with lots of the comments. Getting some rest, plenty of fluids and ensuring you are getting plenty of nutrients. I use organono oil and eucalyptus to ease symptoms.
I was coughing for a long time and colds took long to get better when a friend my mine asked have you tried the black liquid Echidnhea which is potent but works instantly especially for respitory tract infections . Tried it once and never looked back . I got my brother to get a bottle of the Blackmores one for half price this year for the cupboard when they had vitamins on sale.
Make sure you get all your vitamins, get enough sleep, eat from all areas of the food pyramid and getting out in the sun for some exercise will help. honey and lemon in hot water helps.
Lots of fresh fruit and veg, keep hydrated with lots of water and fresh fruit juice. Honey, lemon, garlic and onion are all good cold fighters. Lots of sleep. Some light excersise. Get some fresh air, I always feel a bit better when I get out and sit in the sun for a bit. Use a vapouriser
The best thing I have found for fighting off the common cold is plenty of fresh fruit and veggies, and gentle exercise. Also, just being upright in general. I know when I have a cold all I want to do is lay down and sleep, but a lot of the symptoms of a head cold lessen when sitting upright, and more so when standing. A warm bath with a few peppermint leaves (or a peppermint tea bag) can greatly help with congestion and aching muscles. I would also suggest lots of fresh air. Colds will run their course, all you can do is try and lessen the effect of the symptoms.
