New pool must haves - Mouths of Mums

Hello!

We have finally saved enough to have an 8x3m pool installed at home! We have never had a pool before, so can you please share what your must have pool toys and accessories are?! Kids are 5 and 7 and can both swim if that helps. Thanks in advanced!!

  • Those pool noodles are great – the kids can play all sorts of games with them, and you can drape yourself over them as a floating aid if you want. An inflatable beach ball is another goodie, and if the pool is big enough, some lilo type things can be relaxing for you and kids.

  • Well done in saving for this, your family will have so much fun. I’d go somewhere like a Clark Rubber Store and see what they have as they will all be safety approved. Our kids always loved diving for swim sticks and a volleyball net that had all the family involved. You’ll need a storage area or box for all the stuff.

  • Definitely a robot pool vaccum, saves so much time but get a decent one so it stays charged for a whole clean. For our pool we have lilos, lots of different ride on animals. We have inflatable volleyball and diving toys. Also potentially a shade for the pool for those extra hot days

  • We have just bought a home with a pool and are now finding all the fun accessories to go with it. Our toddlers favourite pool toy is a noodle. You can get a huge range of water guns and launchers, some plastic and some made from pool noodles. I always loved those scatter toys that shoot off in different directions and sink to the bottom. A fun competition to see who collects the most

  • Kids love pool toys so this is a great idea to have a few on hand. A pool noodle and a ring is always a winner along with the sinking toys that they can dive under the water to collect. The kids will have endless amounts of fun in the pool and toys are just an added bonus.

  • Another important addition to my comment below is to always be present when children are playing with toys in the pool and when they are in the pool. It is so very important for both children and adults to be safe and to be water aware when in pools and any water.

  • How exciting for you and your family ! Although we don’t have a pool ourselves we have friends with pools and think that pool noodles, big foam mats and floats and blow up boats are always a hit. Balls for throwing and maybe a basketball hoop at the edge of the pool is always fun too. And those sinking toys you have to dive up.

  • A very exciting time for your family with the addition of a pool. We do not have a pool but have always been avid swimmers. The most important things for us with toys and products for pools when using public pools and pools when on holiday is safe and approved toys and products.
