Hello!

Im looking for people with the same diagnosis, who have been successful in getting DSP.

I have rapid cycle bipolar, that although medicated, I trigger easy and it ends with a crash and burn. Iv just been diagnosed palidomic rheumatism after years of chronic pain, ignored by drs due to my bipolar diagnosis. Thank goodness for finding a dr who listened. Iv been knocked back on a pension for over 10 years now with 4 application as iv never been hospitalised for bipolar. I cant as I have no one to help with the kids. Im hoping, that some good will come from the chronic pain and ill get a pension. Has any one managed to be granted disability pension with this combernation is diseases. I can hardly walk most days, I can’t cut up my own dinner woth out swelling and spamming, and its also affecting my jaw so eating has now been affect. I also have chronic fatigue

  • Wow, you have all that and no help with your kids? How? Are your kids becoming yours (and their siblings) carer? You seem to have a good GP now, possibly he can suggest help?

  • Best thing you can do is maybe searching your condition and seeing if there are forums with people who have similar situations that you can connect with.

  • Try to access a social worker through a community organisation like the Salvation Army. It sounds like you need someone to advocate for you.

  • What is your age ? asking cause you say you have no help with the kids. I would try to apply for NDIS funding as rapid cycle bipolar together with the palidomic rheumatism are chronic and disabling conditions. I would suggest to ask your good listening doctor to support you in this. There are grounds to ask for support services
