Hello!

Is there any psoriasis suffers and if you get it bad on the legs what do you use to shave your legs? I am wondering if it is worth getting an electric razor or an epilady or the likes .

  • I actually came to read the answers! I have a few friends with this and I like to keep up with ideas!

  • I have a regular patch of psoriasis at my hairline at the back of my neck which gets worse in hot weather due to sweat. I use tea tree oil on it but I think everyone is different. Tea Tree Oil may be too strong for some and I don’t think I would use it on babies or children. I also had terrible eczema after the birth of my twins – after a long bout of steroids which helped a little but caused other problems – I found being careful with the food I ate was an even greater help. I follow the FODMAP diet generally. I think it has helped with the psoriasis as well.

  • I also go with suggestions from specialists and review products too – always a good idea. I have invested in particular health care products after these discussions which has assisted with my skin.

  • I have bouts of eczema, not as bad as psoriasis. A friend of mine found a vast improvement in her sons psoriasis when he swam in the ocean. Good luck with it

  • Best to seek some specialist advice for this issue. I always seek out specialist advice for issues.

  • I have psoriasis but only small patches on my legs and either use electric razor or get my adult daughter to shave for me. As I have circulation issues in my lower legs the hair doesn’t grow very much and it is also fair. I think shaving would be the best option as long as you are careful. Anything else I think may irritate the skin.

  • Coconut oil helps soothe the skin and toenails, and is great for the hairline/ears or whereever you get small patches….. but I’m not sure about shaving. It is not something I would want to do, especially not with skin issues in the area.

  • My daughter suffers badly, but is too young for this to be an issue yet. I suppose waxing or depilation would be out of the question?

  • I don’t but I would like to know more about this.

  • perhaps it would be advisable to ask your doctor what the best for this.

  • Have you tried essential oils?
Rose geranium oil has antiseptic, antibacterial, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory properties so it is great for treating any skin condition including psoriasis, has anti-inflammatory properties also tee tree oil as well. I would mix it with some oil ie I use fractured coconut oil…
    Hope it helps x

  • I would not recommend shaving on a skin with psoriasis. You could seek advice from your Dermatologist.

  • I get it mostly in my hair line. My family have it on their legs but so far don’t use anything different for shaving. I mostly only get relief from pine solutions.
