  • I try to as you can learn a lot but often I am on the spot when I see something and only get a quick look on my phone. I think it is a habit I should really get into but do take into account that many people only review when they have something to whinge about.

  • Along with doing a wealth of research which is good common sense, is a good idea to ask family and friends for their reviews and their thoughts on products. Word of mouth can be a big influencer and hands on use of items is incredibly helpful in every possible way before making a purchase.

  • Absolutely! I always do thorough research on products before buying them and that includes reading a range of reviews. It makes good sense to undertake research and read reviews before making any purchase. The key is to find authentic reviews from people that have used the products in everyday living.

  • Yes I do that! I always look for and read reviews before buying a product, most especially when they’re for my baby/kids. I just want to be absolutely sure that the product actually works as intended, useful, and safe and worth every penny 🙂

  • I would say that most people do this. There are too many shotty products out there today and too many choices with what to buy. It can get a little tricky now though. The amount of sites that want to give discounts after giving a 5 star review *sucks*. Why would people critical in any way if they can benefit from high reviews

  • I sometimes do this but not always, I think it depends on the item I am wanting to purchase. Reviews are a great way to work out what a product is like. I really like when people include photos as it gives a real picture of the product rather than just the marketing photos on the website you are purchasing it from.

  • 100% yes! This is actually something I do for most purchases because not only doesn’t it save a lot of annoyance from buying a crappy product and having to return it later but it also makes the shopping process that little bit more enjoyable. We don’t spend alot so when I do I enjoy doing research and shopping around

  • Yes I do so too most of the times. Especially when it is something that is a bit more expensive and I haven’t had or tried it before. When it is something that is cheap I may just try it before checking.
In the case of for example a holiday accommodation I always thoroughly check.

  • Yes, I do that too. Reading reviews before buying something, especially kids’ toys or home appliances, has become second nature. It’s not just about checking if the product works; it’s about learning from other people’s experiences. Reviews can reveal things you would never know from the product description alone — like whether a toy actually keeps kids entertained or if an appliance is noisy, tricky to clean, or breaks down quickly.

  • Yes, though I’m always a bit wary of those on the manufacturer or retailer’s websites – sometimes they remove the worst reviews, and those can be informative. I also check the Choice website, and I will google for general review forums that might have mentioned it too. Mind you, I usually only do this for high value items or things I’d want to last a while.
