Hello!

I’m always trying to get my kids to eat more veg. I have a few recipes for savoury dishes but am looking for some good sweet ones. Any suggestions for yummy recipes with hidden veggies?

  • You can add grated carrot and zucchini into lots of baked goods because they are fairly bland and any sort of essence will disguise the taste.

  • I blitz up a heap of veges and add it to just about anything. One of my toddlers favourites in cauliflower nuggets. I also make minestrone soup and call it rainbow soup.

  • Also, check out the recipes section on this site, plenty of good ‘hidden’ vegies recipes.

  • Most vegies can be hidden in sweet recipes/foods. Zucchini and carrot is particularly good for hiding in food. They have no idea about the hidden goodness of vegies! ;)

  • I make hidden vege lasagne.
Pretty simple to make and absolutely delicious!
    All you need is:
    Lasagne sheets
    Mince
    Cheese (parmi cheese and tasty)
    Carrot (finely grated)
    Zucchini (finely grated)
    Broccoli
    Beans
    Peas
    Pasta sauce
Whack it all together and there’s one amazing lasange! :)

  • There are so many cakes that have veggies in them. Zucchini, beetroot, carrot, sweet potato all have cake recipes. Scones too, good old Flo Bjelkes famous pumpkin scones for example. Get Googling and I’m sure you’ll find heaps

  • Pumpkin scones is a great one I use Lady Flo’s recipes best one ever!

  • There is one recipe for carrot and apple muffins here in Mouths of Mums https://mouthsofmums.com.au/recipe/carrot-apple-muffins/ Hope you like it!

  • there are some great ones on here. all types of veg muffins, cupcakes, slices etc

  • Try with carrot muffins or zucchini bread. Look in Internet and you will surely find the recipes. Maybe even here im Mouths of Mums.
