  • Have you tried turps. Applied with a rag and rubbed gently. Patch test in inconspicuous spot first for colour fastness

  • nail polish remover, worked for me, you can get paint stripper too but not sure how good that would be for your carpet.

  • goodluck with getting it out

  • I have house paint on mine from previous owners. When we first purchased I got the carpets professionally cleaned & the paint didn’t even budge so don’t waste your money.

  • Start with scraping it off to get the worst off. Then try some WD40

  • a professional carpet clean is always good

  • I’ve used nail polish remover to remove nail polish (which is a type of paint) before and it worked. Just dabbed and dabbed to get it out of the carpet.

  • try and scrape it off I guess

  • Listerine. I’ve heard about it too. People say it dosen’t do any damage. Never tried it myself though. Do let me know if it worked for u

  • thankyou ,I have paint on mine and will give these ideas a go 🙂

  • Interesting about using Listerine. I haven’t heard of that before. Sounds scary that something you use in your mouth removes dried paint.

  • Listerine, I’ve used it to remove paint – it works.

  • WD40, acetone nail polish remover or rubbing alcohol

  • This is a hard one without ruining the carpet. Would love to know if anyone has found something that works.

  • I thought the same as most people when I read the question, new carpet or even new second hand cheap but nice carpet

  • we ended up replacing carpet but if you find something that works i would love to here about it 🙂 good luck

  • I would contact the company who put out the paint and ask for their consumer department. Im sure they have been asked this question many times before.

  • Depends on the type of paint, and the carpet too.

and hopefully you’ll find something that will work for you. Good luck!

  • I had this problem I bought cheap fabric &upholstery cleaner from the $2 shop that I figured may work (my son thought it would be great to redecorate with his paints) all was dry by the time I found it soaked the carpet n a bit of elbow grease n came out just in time for our inspection (also worked wonders on the walls too!

  • soda water
