I usually get rescues but with the Covert 19 tried to get one over and over lost count how many I tried then I saw a breeder advertising and gave it a go and she said I had just missed out anyway within half a hour she contacted me and said if I still wanted the kitten it was mine after I paid the deposit which I did and I’m very happy even though I was looking for a bit older not a kitten I just love what I got.
I avoid shops and breeders when looking for a fur baby, that way I know I’m not supporting puppy farms of any kind. I would go to a rescue for your cat. De sexed, micro chipped, wormed and vaccinated, all ready to go. And you’ll be saving a life
Unless you really want a pedigreed which you will need to go to a breeder then I believe it is better to use a rescue organisation as they are usually made up of volunteers who really care and an animal from a rescue organisation you can be assured that their health is good with essential things like vaccination, desexing, and microchipping in place. Usually these have been subsidised so the cost to a person is less than what a pet shop would be. They also ensure the right socialising has taken place and make sure the person wanting a pet is a suitable responsible person.
No way would I go to a shop or private breeder for a kitten or puppy. Too many people keeping these animals in horrid conditions fir breeding purposes. Go for a rescue kitten, they need a second chance at a happy home
Rescue or Registered Breeder only for me – there are so many people making lots of money from selling cute kittens and puppies…. Please do some research. Council should be able to advise of good rescue options, then just wait for the breed, sex, colour you want. All the best!
Rescuing animals is always good and so many animals need new homes after Christmas. Animals need forever homes but unfortunately this does not always occur. Animal ownership and care is a big responsibility and a lifetime responsibility.
I strongly believe in supporting centres where you can adopt / save an animal. We have adopted several animals all of which have been excellent pets. With so many animals abandoned it makes sense to give these ones home rather than breed more – purely for……$$$? selfish reasons? other reasons? I don’t know or understand why people choose to breed animals. Adopted animals also will be micro-chipped and de-sexed. Good luck in finding the right companion for you.
