  • In our home Santa used to bring the majority but as the boys got older this swapped to majority (and more expensive) gifts from us/parents.

  • Good question! Santa definitely brings more things, and more fun things too they they were wanting or would love. I tend to buy the things they actually need like clothes etc. i love the excitement they receive and their faces when they see Santa brought them something that they absolutely loved

  • Bigger presents are given by Santa and parents and smaller presents go in the stockings. Stockings are good for filling with fun and also practical items. Stockings get filled with a variety of items; including; fun new socks, arts and crafts items, colouring books, pencils, little toys and gifts and of course little sweet and savoury Christmas treats.

  • In our house, each kid has a smallish stocking (about 30cm high, so we’re not talking huge). Santa fills it with small trinkets – a lego minifig, some christmas chocolates, hair ties, pencils, that sort of thing. So I don’t know, maybe 20 presents? But they’re small and usually only cost a dollar or two or even less. Big presents come from siblings or parents.

  • I never grew up with a split in gifts and I don’t think I’ll do it for our kids. It’s such a brief moment in time that you believe in Santa, and they know you buy them everything else throughout the year. I don’t see any harm in letting Santa get the cred

  • We have always gone with one gift from Santa and one gift from parents. There is also a stocking full of different treats for every member of the family. We never ever go overboard at Christmas time with gifts and food and try to keep it a relaxed and fun time.

  • We just followed the tradition the our parents did for us and that is, santa brings majority of the presents. We give one or two just to keep the Santa story real. There were times that we regretted it lol but thankfully all our kids now know that Santa is intact us. They are much more grateful now

  • We never made a split between presents coming from Santa and or presents coming from mum and dad or grand parents. We also don’t think about a certain number of presents, but rather keep a budget from about $200 per person. Last year we traveled during the summer holiday and didn’t any presents at all (the trip was the present)
