  • I try to make sure at least once a week we go out and do an activity out of the house such as bowling, mini golf, movies, arcade.

  • We look around, use local websites to find things to do including:
    Shopping centre shows (free)
    Library sessions (free)
    Play dates
    Parks / playground
    Home cooking /picnics
Arts and crafts sessions (at home)
    Zoo (x3)
    Movies (occasionally)
    Feeding ducks (at local pond)
    Gardening (make it fun)
    Snow (this school holidays)
    Train trip to city
    Botanical gardens to run around
Dress ups – often with a sheet cubby

    Plenty more

  • Beach or pool, learn to swim, go to a movie, the library, the park, have a picnic, go bike riding, have friends over, play games, drawing, tea party, cooking, DVD’s, visit family. go for a walk in the bush/park/or along the beach, go to different playgrounds, go shopping for one thing each.

  • Walks along the beach or river.

  • I love the idea of asking each child one thing they really want to do! I’m definitely doing that for next school holidays. I always make sure to book into the library programs. There is usually 2 free sessions at each library (there are 3 in my area) and we get to at least 2 of them each holidays. Free and fun!

  • Walks to the park and local wetlands are great to get the kids out of the house and a change of scenery for all.

  • Finding new parks has become our hobbie we love it, will be sad once school goes back

  • lots of play dates they are free

  • Our neighbouring suburbs hold outdoor cinemas on Friday nights during the summer school holidays. Is completely free and family friendly. Maybe you could do a search for ‘outdoor cinema’ and see what comes up close to you.

  • these are great ideas! i love making the most of our days together and these are all great suggestions

  • Be tourist in your own town, do some day trips or even a trip out on a boat. Even ask the kids what they would like to do.

  • I asked each of my 3 girls the one main thing they wanted to do thinking they would all give a different answer. They all said “Go to the pool” so we did that lol! I have a list of ideas though so far this week we have gone out 1 day and stayed home the next. My list is:
    Park
    Pool
    Zoo
Friends houses or friends come here
    Healesville Sanctury
    Play center
    Beach
    Sky High
    Water park
    Special craft activities at home
    Grandparents house
    Movies

  • Also; home activities; DVD’s and some snacks; dress up/costume days; arts and crafts and cooking days and on and on! have fun! :)

  • Love the holidays; pool, movies, bowling, gallery(kids gallery), museum(kids activities); library, arts and crafts, cooking and so much more!
