Hello!

I find myself with two kids in primary school now, yet im still holding onto boxes of baby clothes. Does anyone else find it hard to let go of their baby items? What are you holding onto?

  • Oh i am loving these replies!! Such great ideas like keeping some clothes for baby dolls. It gives it another life and how amazing it must be to see your kids playing and using them – something that holds a special memory. Toys etc are easy for me to move on from, clothes are definitely the hardest things for me to let go.

  • Oh and you can also keep a dress up box of tiny baby clothes for when you have grandkids and they want to dress up dolls. I have a box of cabbage patch dolls from when I was a child and I’ve kept some baby clothes that are my kids, so it will be super special when I have grandkids come over and play

  • Oh yes! I didn’t want to throw out ANY of my kids baby stuff! So I settled on choosing certain things that meant stuff to me and I made a box for each child. It’s always hard so start by getting rid of the things you know you don’t want and then you can come back to it again another time. I find time helps me realise which items hold memories and are important.

  • I have kept some baby stuff of my kids just the ones that mean the most to me like there is a Doll that my late mother gave my daughter and the first dresses my mum bought my daughters. Its hard to throw them out

  • My eldest 2 are 20 and 21 year old and we use still some of the baby clothes for the baby dolls of my youngest 🙂 For all my kids I have a little memory box with some sentimental items. In my son’s box I have one of his first shoes which he totally chewed kaput whilst in my daughters it has one of her first nappies (she was premature and only weighed 810 gram) they have a box with milk teeth and first hair cut and that type of things.
