Hello!

My 8 year old is a budding dancer….dances 3 nights a week. Given all the activity she does get headaches on occasion. I know she’s pretty good at stretching but should I get her seen regularly by a physio?

  • hope this is better.
maybe she needs to cut down her load. going to school and afterschool activites can make a kid tired and she is still pretty young.

  • talk to your local gp – they will tell you if she needs further treatment – physio may not be what she needs and a waste of money

  • if you are concerned, do. make sure she is drinking and eating enough too. she is possibly going through a growth spurt and needs the extra nutrients. maybe she needs a little more sleep. good luck.

  • The headaches should be checked out by your GP first but a physio can help with the correct stretches she may need to strengthen. Hope she fulfills her dreams.

  • Could very well be neck related as a lot of headaches stem from there. I would talk to your Dr and see what they suggest just in case it is something else causing the headaches. Pre-puberty can be a time for experiencing headaches – I know my daughter did at that age.

  • I would speak to the dance teacher about specific stretches and at least see what a physio suggests
