I know a baby who started having symptoms of her first tooth. Her Mum could see “white” in her gum for about a month before she got her first tooth.
A relative of mine who is now an adult got tonsillitis every time he got a new teeth including his permanent ones. If crying and discomfort continues it’s best to get baby checked. Otherwise baby will cry even more because of sore throat.

Sounds like a tooth to me, I remember seemed to take forever to actually show through. Try a little bonjella when really grumpy and see if that helps.

I have 3 children and each one was different.
My eldest was a nightmare baby and would cry all the time…people often said “Oh she must be teething”…she didnt get her first tooth until she was just over a year old…lol
My second would get bright red cheeks but was always very happy. Im not sure when she got her first tooth as after my eldest getting hers at over a year i gave up worrying about such things.
My 3rd was slightly restless but nothing major. Again im not sure of her age when she got her first tooth.

Ours were the same and it was a long process for them — first tooth didn’t come through until 8 months!!

Mine did a lot of this at 3 months but he didn’t get teeth until almost 7 months. But chew toys are always great even without teething as it strengthens the jaw for chewing food and talking later down the track. A lot changes for babies at 3 months too which could be what the fussy behaviour is all about.

It could be your baby gum sore.

Grizzling, chewing, fists in mouth, flushed teeth, temperature, excessive drooling are all indications of teething.

My daughter is 7 months and is getting very whinging. The teething stage can be stressful I think.

Sounds like teething to me, but this can go on for a while before you actually seen any. If it is causing major issues check with your doctor that nothing else is wrong.

When my little boy was about 3 months old, he started doing the same kinds of things. Pulling or rubbing his ears, gumming down on things (he didn’t have any teeth to bite with yet), rivers of drool flowing from his mouth, and having issues settling. He didn’t cut his tooth until he was 6 months old, and we’d know when he was about to cut a tooth because his poor little bottom would suddenly break out in horrendous nappy rash, and even bleed! Luckily, he now has all of his teeth (16 in total), and although the last 6 months have been hellish, he’s back to being the happy little boy who sleeps through the night again! I hope it all works out with you, and I can highly recommend mesh feeders, bananas and rice rusks to help with the teething!

Sounds exactly like teething, especially the drooling. My daughter also started teething at 4 months and was grisly and also suffered nappy rash at the same time. Not much fun.
