Hello!

What does spotting after a period mean? I am currently on ‘the pill’ but forgot to take a day. A day later I got my period (normal 6 days) but last night about 1.5 weeks after it finished I had spotting. Any ideas what this could mean?

  • Menstrual spotting, often described as breakthrough bleeding, can occur while on birth control pills. Missed doses can increase the risk of spotting.

  • I’ve had this recently and went to Dr and she gave me a script for a stronger pill and it has stopped the spotting now, Yay!

  • It could be nothing but it could be something. Get off to your gp asap and ask them about it

  • it means being a woman can suck!! I had this for years – two libations, etc and then a hysterectomy and life is bliss… Get some help love, in this day and age there is no need to suffer. all the best

  • always go to your doctors with spotting – may need a different pill, may need some GP advice…. At the very least it is a darn nuisance!

  • Most likely your body trying to reset after missing the pill. If it’s only spotting and goes away, I wouldn’t worry too much. Just try remember your pill cos it’s a bugger when you forget

  • irregular periods,, don’t worry it is common if you stop the pill for a day or so,, i would be normal next month,

  • Probably because you missed the pill.

  • it would just be your body getting back into sink because you missed the pill

  • I would think its because you missed a pill

  • Its because you missed the tablet.

  • I would say it means you should go ask your GP (that is what I would do)
