While statins are highly effective and safe for most people, they have been linked to muscle pain, digestive problems and mental fuzziness in some people who take them and may rarely cause liver damage. Researchers warn that unless a patient is at high risk of suffering a heart attack or stroke, statins may cause more harm than good
If your doctor has prescribed them, I’d say they’re pretty definitively good. This has had some time to settle, and the initial reporting seems to have misrepresented the situation somewhat.
My darling dad went on a health kick and increases his greens intake because he thought it was a healthy thing to do. It put all his warfarin levels out of whack!
You also have to be carful not to take medications that counteract each other. Also some foods have to be avoided when taking certain medicine. For example people on warfarin should not eat silver beet and certain greens as can upset your vitamin k levels and interfere with the clotting of your blood.
