Hello!

Ok so I don’t work at present, I’m a full time mum and we are really tight for money so I’m looking for a way to work from home. Are there any other full time mums that work from home or know a way to earn some extra cash?

  • This seems to be a popular/regular question asked on here. I cannot thing of anything that you can do from home that offers regular, good pay cheques

  • I babysit a friends little one 🙂

  • I’m in this position now. I tried selling on eBay but didn’t get anywhere. I wish there was a service that stay at home mums could utalise to make extra cash.

  • You could have a garage sale with any unwanted goods.

  • Cool! There really interesting comments on this!

  • Nothing major here, just little things that add up. I buy and sell second hand clothing – school uniforms especially – I often sell enough at the end of the year to buy second hand uniforms for the next year.

I do a few surveys and am involved in a regular feedback ‘job’ that gives me a few $$ each quarter to help out. I used to do mystery shopping too and found that fun with free products and a few $.

I enter competitions for prizes that suit family members for Christmas and birthday gifts too – things like books and toys are being given away all year and make great presents.

  • Money won’t come without the hard work or determination! So many mums who run their businesses from home will tell you it’s a hard slog if you want to make a career out of it. If you just want a hobby, then there’s lots of options for you but find something you have an interest in or are passionate about.

  • I try and save where I can. Its hard to get into paper delivery and been trying to sell stuff on ebay my friend does and doing quite well. I tried did no good.

  • following, just surveys? home scan? could do a paper round?

  • There are also party plan jobs/ironing/cleaning jobs. Depends on what you like doing?

  • Also; maybe have a market stall/arts and crafts/cooking?

  • Maybe look at your interests and hobbies. Do you have interests and hobbies that you could possibly turn into a business opportunity?

  • i hope you are doing ok with the budget

  • good question! if you don’t earn money, you just have to budget
    pot plants and sell
    set up a market store

  • Any party plan would be good. Selling craft, scrapbooking etc. Tutoring on a subject you know about. Maybe you could try blogging. Good luck.

  • start selling on ebay

  • Looking for ways to save money on the things you already do/ buy can be very effective in freeing up some cash.

  • I started a small business creating wool fekt nursery mobiles, name banners and party favours for kids

  • Party plan is good if you are determined self-motivated and willing to make it work

  • try looking into something like freelancer.com or do some online surveys (although you won’t get paid a lot). best way is to try to cut back and examine your existing expenses.
