We’ve given up on any clever systems (the kids don’t use them) and just have a couple of giant tubs, and a small play table for any creations they want to preserve for a while.

For loose lego, get a big plastic tub with a lid, it will keep the dust out.

For lego set, sandwich bags, you can write on it & it is so much easier to keep track of.

For built lego, display cabinet.

we keep the youngest Lego all in one box, my oldest enjoys making more complex models and keeps his separated with the manual.

all lego should be kept in a box with a lid it is easier for kids to pack up Instead of you having to clean up for them.

depends on how much effort you want to make sorting it all every time they play with it. i have a plastic tub and they keep their lego in that now

no matter how organised you are lego will get everywhere! we bought my son a big tub and he keeps most of it in that then I just kept a few small shoe boxes to put in pieces he’d dug out and wanted to use for building

We use a lego head storage bucket. We keep all the instructions together in a lego box but all the lego pieces get put all together in the lego head and another box.

Plastic storage tubs work great.

Lego, I store it in sip lock sandwich bags that way its organized and easy to open. Can also write on them if its for a certain model.

I have a 13 and 14 year old, and a 3 year old, and the 3 year old has just found his brother’s Lego and is really interested! We used to have a Lego table like the one in the photo that was great – it has 3 seats, 3 Lego boards that can come off the table and a huge tub in the centre for Lego storage. We used to have it in the corner of a room to keep all the Lego together (and off the floor!) We also have big plastic containers that can slide under beds (my eldest accumulated a LOT of Lego over the years) and they are great as can be stacked in a corner out of the way too.

We start off separated into sets and keep the instructions with it but it doesn’t always last! Big snap lock bags are good for storing it together with instructions in the plastic container when you get a lot.

I try to store in sets and have cheap plastic containers with lids that i use, easy to stack, easy to store and can just pull out one container at a time, hopefully eliminating the “step on a lego” episodes which absolutely kill your bare feet lol

I have bought small plastic klip it boxes from coles and my son stores each separate Lego in a different box.
He also has a big box with odd pieces in it.

We have on of those yellow lego heads for storage and it separates the sizes

We tried storing the Lego as sets it just didn’t work then I thought storing it by piece size would be great ,that didn’t work either so now it all just goes into a big plastic tub and all the little instruction booklets in another small container

Lego made the circular play mat that when my kids were playing with it they would sit on it & when finished they just pulled the drawstring & the lego was all in one place.

You can get little containers with lids at the reject shop, I would keep the. Separate so you know what sets belong to what.

I’d keep all the sets together in plastic tubs and label them. As to the vacuum cleaner you’re dreaming of you might have to ask Mr Dyson to design one for you:-)

I find it easier to be stored together in a box.

If your children are small and use the big lego keep it in one box because small block can go in the mouth. If they are between say six and twelve keep lego in one box. This allows them to use their imagination, different types of motor skills etc. We used to built houses from the big lego and cars from the tiny lego and play on a car map. If lego is for something definite like a pirate ship keep this lego separately (or else build it and display it up high) away from prying little fingers.
