While we still have a pile of CD’s, and even some video tapes I found the other day – we do not have a machine to play them on. We do have a record player, vinyl records and we do still play them from time to time (although I admit that streaming music is much easier)

I have a DVD player however it is not plugged in and really just collects dust. I tend to stream everything these days as it is convenient and easy to set up when you want to watch something. I feel CD’s and DVD’s have really gone out of date these days as people want convivence and it is hard to buy these in shops these days.

I much prefer DVDs and CDs. We started with DVDs initially because we needed subtitles for our deaf son; and then I realised that we’d also accidentally avoided ads, and we were getting so much less nagging than my friends. And then I just found it easier and cheaper… so we’ve just never engaged with streaming.

I personally use streaming services but have the odd DVD of family favourites as streaming can be unreliable with what content they provide. I have seen some influences (Skye Hitchcock on TikTok) as an example who have fully come back to DVD and Videos for nostalgia!
Vinyls are a big trend at the moment, and quite easy to find too.
