There are online companies that offer language courses – some are paid and some are free. I’d start with http://www.duolingo.com

I learnt French in high school. You could probably find suitable courses at your local TAFE. Online can be useful too

Also; worth checking out if there are any child friendly classes in your area.

I have taught myself many things including languages via books. I have books that also come with a CD. A local library will have a selection of books and resources on learning languages and then there is the opportunity to try before you buy. I did this and then bought the book and CD from a book store that best worked for me. Good luck – learning another language is fun!
